Released one day before my born. This album has so much meaning to my life. I remember the day like it was yesterday. I had to meet my Mom in the city near 34th street. Walking past the HMV (now Victoria Secret) I saw a paper flyer that read "NaS 'It Was Written' signing today at 6". I knew I wouldn't be able to go if I told my Mom. So instead of meeting her I chose to not meet up and deal with it when I got home. I stood on line nervous, young and excited to meet my then favorite emcee. I remember how nervous I felt and how brief the moment was. They didn't allow NaS to personalize the discs but just the pound and NaS 96 made my summer. Upon getting home and expecting to be in trouble my Mom told me my childhood friend Jason succumbed to his injuries from drowning in a pool on his 8th grade trip to DC. To this day I think of him when I press play.

Cleaning and found some old video game systems from my childhood. Honestly this isn't even half of them lol. I was into gadgets as a child. Funny that kids care more about clothes now. Glad I'm from another era.

I was walking through the food court in my jobs building and saw this ornament. It's one of the old ones with water that bubbles in the light. I haven't seen one of these since I was 6 in my Grand Mothers house in Jamaica. Made me nostalgic about the simpler days. Man I miss her, I wonder if she's proud of me where She's at.

Found some old spec work I did before anyone took me on as a client. At the time I was a huge Shyne fan. I still am ( the old stuff anyway). I created this booklet based around an album concept I created in my head. At the time I didnt think he would do the entire 10 years. Man, time sure does fly.
